Let me just start of by saying, that I enjoy every Call Of Duty game which is centered around World War I or II, I don’t like the futuristic-run-on-the-ceiling-parkour-over-buildings-ones
Choosing match type:
Featured – You will always have 2-4 options of type of matches that are currently in the season (most recent Update), playing these matches will almost always result in double XP of some sorts.
Standard – You will find Most players playing under this Match Type! Standard includes most of COD action packed game modes: Team Deathmatch, War, Domination, Search And Destroy, Kill Confirmed, Gridiron, Free-For-All, Hardpoint, Capture The Flag!
Hardcore – This match type is the most challenging as you will not have a minimap, grenade/bullet indications – it’s just you and all of your senses.
Prop Hunt – One team hides as props in the map and the other team must find them.
Bomb Mosh Pit – Rotation of bomb game modes on standard maps.
Team Deathmatch – Eliminate the enemy team to score. First team to reach the score limit wins.
WAR – Attack or Defend a set of objectives to complete the mission (similar to BF1 Push)
Domination – Capture and hold designated positions to score. The first team to reach the score limit wins.
Search and Destroy – Teams take turns defending and destroying an objective.
Kill confirmed – Eliminate all enemies and pick up their god tags to score. First team to reach the score limit wins.
Gridiron – Throw or Carry the Gridiron ball to the Goal.
Free For All – Eliminate the enemies to score. First player to reach the score limit wins.
Hardpoint – Capture and Hold the hardpoints to score. First team to reach the score limit wins.
Capture the Flag – Capture the enemy flag to score.
Ranked – join in to see how you stack up, against other players!
So as you can see there is no shortage of action packed – run and gun – explosions!
Call of Duty: WW2’s multiplayer may be set in a time without high-tech superweapons, but it’s still very much a Call of Duty multiplayer mode: you die fast, respawn fast, and kill fast – it’s a game pace built for action. Once you start killing more than dying, you get that warm fuzzy feeling inside of you!
World War II setting does provide interesting new player Divisions (classes): Airborne, Mountain Infantry, Resistance, Armored, Expeditionary. Each division comes with it’s own unique ability/skill and set of weapons, you can also further customize your “Killing machine” by adding “Basic Training” skills which allow you, carry more grenades, stay hidden, carry akimbo pistols and much more!
Progressing through those early ranks is easy, and made even easier with WW2’s new Orders and Contracts (available in Headquarters). After accepting and completing these in-match side goals, such as killing a certain number of enemies in Team Deathmatch in a 10 or 20 minutes, you’ll get rewards like XP or supply drops (AKA loot crates). I seemed to earn supply drops fast enough, even in higher levels, through Orders, Contracts, random match rewards, and earning rank levels.
While supply drop rewards are mostly cosmetic, I did come across rare versions of weapons that have nice skins and a 10-15% soldier rank XP bonus per kill and it is also possible to find 10 minute XP boosters.
As I have ~200+ hrs on COD:WWII Multiplayer, here are my tips for a fun, well rounded TOP3 all the time playing experience:
– Try every division, pick your favorites (at least 2 preferably 3).
– Customize your Divisions (1 set for attacking / 1 set for defending)
– Get your friends involved, it’s more fun to party up!
– Join Wortex Gaming discord – most important step!
– Find your preferred game mode (I personally really enjoy WAR, Search and Destroy, Capture The Flag.)
– Don’t forget it’s just a game and for the most part it’s a run and gun experience!
What are you waiting for? – From now until Sunday, February 25th at 1pm (Pacific Time), Play Call of Duty®: WWII Multiplayer for free!
Let me know how did you like it? Was it a good experience? Is it better than BF1?
