Gameplay:

As you can see a new map has been added and a couple of new twists for survival!
Rather than the standard start of a battle royale game, like falling from the sky or jumping out of a flying vehicle, ROE, the newest battle royale game from Tencent Games, simply starts players wherever they want. At the beginning of each match, your given a giant map with hundreds of small squares. Click on a square and that’s where you’ll spawn when the match begins. You can even see where other players will be spawning as well, allowing you a pretty good idea of where everyone is on the map when each match starts.

Most of us probably know the feeling of landing somewhere and finding a pan, while other players are already, LVL 3 geared, up killing machines? Not to worry ROE, has got you covered!
Start your killing spree as soon as you spawn:  A load-out including a gun, some bandages and even a means of transportation will be yours as soon as you spawn. The game’s snow-covered map is massive and these mobility options in each load-out — either a glider, a snowboard or climbing axes — are supposed to help players get around the environment. Instead, they’re only usable in special areas or very specific situations and more often than not you simply forget they exist.

Although a load-out is given to you at the start of the game, you will not miss out on looting and getting better gear by exploring the map, getting it from other player bodies!

The map:

It’s got massive mountains, a ski lift that runs throughout the map and an interesting blend of small towns. At the moment the towns seem somewhat identical, as there are only 4-5 house designs thrown around the map, nonetheless we had great fun playing and improvements on the design of the map are sure to come in the soonest time!

The Servers:

As mentioned before at the moment unfortunately, the game is not available on EU servers, but Tencent, have said that they are working on finalizing localisation and server availability in Europe, which is why the release got pushed. No updated launch date has been announced for Europe, yet, but it is rumored to be up and running in EU in about 4 weeks!

The Conclusion:

ROE launches with the new snow-based map that features a couple of unique game-play mechanics and transportation methods not seen in other battle royale games, which will definitely spice-up your Battle Royal experience! The game will be free-to-play, so there is nothing to lose to try it when it hits the EU servers.
